The Lakes & Ponds in Barnstable need our support!

The Barnstable Pond Coalition is an all-volunteer organization committed to restoring and protecting clean water in the town of Barnstable. We already have many skilled people, but we need volunteers with interests and energy to tackle many needs: data, research and analysis; communication, education and social media; public policy advocates to attend public meetings and advocate for action; leaders who can coordinate volunteer actions and events; development experts who can help us raise funds.

We are also in need of volunteers to collect pond water samples. These sample collections will take place on Thursday mornings starting in May and running through September. This will require a two-hour time commitment per week and will involve visiting up to three ponds to collect the samples.

We will provide training and the necessary equipment. The samples are taken two meters offshore; you will need waders or high boots to take the samples.
